Residents who wish to appeal their assessments on property may appear before the board.
The board will meet in September to hear appeals of motor vehicle assessments only. Petition forms are available from the assessor’s office and should be returned there by August 28, 2006 to schedule a hearing.
The Board of Assessment Appeals will meet in March 2007 to hear appeals of assessments on the October 1, 2006 grand list, including real estate, personal property and motor vehicles. ~The Board can also hear appeals of assessments on the 2005 Supplemental Motor Vehicle list.
Anyone wishing to appeal must file a petition for appeal with the Board of Assessment Appeals. ~The petition must be in the assessor's office (as staff for the Board of Assessment Appeals) by the close of business on February 20, 2007. ~
