SIMSBURY RECYCLING COMMITTEE TOWN HALL OFFICES – ROOM 103
Minutes for Thursday, September 24th, 2009
Call to Order: 8:04 pm Present: Chair Mary Turner, Gwen Moraski, and Andrew Rose.
Lori Fernand and Lonni Schultz informed Mary that they could not make the meeting.
Swap Center-
Mary Turner spoke to Richard Sawitzke – shelves, electricity, outlets, lighting, sealant, fencing, grounds and keys are to be completed most likely prior to the re-opening which is likely to happen in April 2010. Signage to be provided by the Town. The Swap Shop’s new location is located just within the entrance gait on the left. No tipping fees will be required. The bathroom situation was brought up at the meeting and needs to be addressed prior to the 2010 re-opening.
Recycling Award-
A discussion regarding the next recipient(s) of the Annual Recycling Award took place.
Old Business: New Business-
Jill Paterson has moved away from Simsbury. Jill has not resigned from Recycling Committee yet.
A motion was made and seconded to recommend to the Library Trustees that a recycling swap bin for magazines and world newspapers such as Times and Wall Street Journal which should be separated to be located at the Public Library. The motion was past.
Adjourned 8:30 pm: Gwen Moraski made a motion to adjourn. It was seconded by Andrew Rose and passed unanimously. Minutes respectfully submitted by Andrew Rose.
