Mary A. Glassman Simsbury's First Selectman Video Greeting |
Welcome to the Town of Simsbury's Web Site. The goal of this web-site is to provide you with any information that you may need about our Town in a convenient on-line format. In doing so, our purpose is to make it easier for you to live, work, visit and do business in Town.
The Town of Simsbury was incorporated as Connecticut's twenty-first town in May 1670. Simsbury is strategically located 20 minutes northwest of Hartford and 20 minutes southwest of Bradley International Airport, in the heart of the New York-Boston corridor. It has a land area of approximately 34.5 square miles and a population of approximately 23,234. Bordered by the Towns of Granby, Bloomfield, Canton and Avon, Simsbury offers an unmatched quality of life with a traditional New England town atmosphere in a setting of rolling hills, the picturesque Farmington River and well manicured properties. It has been designated as one of the “top 100 Best Places to Live,” by Money Magazine.
The Simsbury school system consistently ranks as one of the best in the State. The Town has a well deserved reputation for providing excellent municipal services to its residents. In addition, numerous cultural, educational and recreational opportunities are provided by public and private organizations.
After visiting our Web Site, I hope you will visit Simsbury. I welcome your comments and suggestions. Please feel free to e-mail me at mglassman@simsbury-ct.gov.
